Who is more powerful Shiva or Vishnu? According to hindu mythology narayana and shiva are created by Parbharma which exist in tenth dimension.
So let’s see who is superior.
(1) For a Śaiva, the answer to this question is Him.
But they must see how Viṣṇu had instructed Śiva at the beginning of creation:
Lord Kṛṣṇa:—
O Śiva, the best of the intellectuals, you serve me regularly during day and night, for a hundred crores of kalpas. O lord of the gods, you are the best of the ascetics, siddhas, yogīs, intellects, Vaiṣṇavas and the gods. Therefore with my boon you achive all the siddhis, knowledge of the fout Vedas and the knowledge of all the four worlds, with the boon granted by one you would be able to witness the fall of innumerable Brahmas. O Śiva, from today itself, you shall possess the intelect, glory, age, prowess, valour and strength like me, because you are dearer to me than my life even and there is no other person more devoted to me than you. You are greater than my soul even. No one else is dearer to me than you.
The sinners, foolish and un-enlightened people who denounce you, they suffer in terrific hell till the sun and the moon last. O Śiva, you will achieve Prakṛti after the lapse of a hundred crores of years.
(2) For Vaiṣṇava, the answer to this question is Him
But they must see it how Śiva had instructed Viṣṇu at the beginning of creation (on another kalpa):
Lord Śiva said:—
O Viṣṇu, at my bidding you are now the creator, sustainer and destroyer of all the worlds. You are the bestower of virtue, wealth and love and the chastiser of people of evil predilection. You are the lord of the universe. You are worthy of the worship of the universe. You will be invincible in battle anywhere even against me. You will be endowed with great strength and valour. You take three Śaktis—will etc. conferred by me. You can have the power of exhibiting diverse sports and independence in the three worlds.
O Viṣṇu, persons who hate you shall indeed be chastised and curbed by me with strenuous efforts. Salvation shall be given by me, O Viṣṇu, to your devotees. Accept this Māyā too which cannot be withstood by devas and others and by which the entire universe will be deluded and made insentient as it were.
When Śiva invited Viṣṇu from Vaikuṇṭha. Śiva rejoiced at the perfect devotion of Viṣṇu. In an auspicious hour, the great lord made Viṣṇu sit on the exquisite throne and delightedly decorated him in every way. A beautiful coronet was fixed on Viṣṇu and the auspicious holy thread was tied to his waist. He was then coronated by lord Śiva in the Cosmic Hall.
Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi on Mahābhārata Harivaṃśa :—
I offer my salutation to Śiva in the form of Viṣṇu, and Viṣṇu in the form of Śiva. I find no difference between the two. Observing my feelings, let both of them bestow welfare on me. Lord Viṣṇu cannot exist without Śiva, and Śiva cannot exist without Viṣṇu. Therefore, in the earlier times, both of them had unified personality. I offer my salutation to lord Rudra and Viṣṇu, who roam about in the world individually or collectively.

In my opinion both Lord shiva and vishnu equally are superior. It just some kind of duty where ones play important role.
If we talk about power shiva is among all gods
If we talk about taking care of everything in this universe narayna is among all god. Brahma just creates universes.. Indeed narayna is the real creator who creates brahma. Bhrahma lives in fifth dimension where he creates universes. And narayana lives in ninth dimension where he creates all previous eight dimension.
Lord Shiva
Even though shiva is a Divine character shiva lives very simply.. He appears like a sadhu – baba.. Or u may say aghori..
If I talk about power no one can beat Lord shiva. He is among all gods that’s why he is known as devon k dev mahadev.. not even Lord vishnu can beat Lord shiva in a fight.
Lord shiva known as destroyers.. The one who plays the role of destruction is always strongest that’s why this role given to shiva. In the end of yuga Lord shiva do parlye (destroy all universe so Bhrama can recreates it again) and so the new yuga can begin.
Lord shiva is the only God who has third eye which shows individuality no one else in this world possess third eye.
Lord shiva is the only God who is worshipped by all means God’s..demons.. Detya.. danava asura.. Humans.. aghori.. Ghost and soul’s.. Rishi muni.. Means All in this universe pray shiva no matter even if it is evil spirit.. god or demon.
Lord Shiva is known as master and creator of archery.. Shiva’s deadly weapon is Pashupatra astra..pinaka bow and Trident (trishul).
Once lord shiva cut down one of the Lord brahma head the fifth head.. Just think there’s someone who can cut down even creator’s head.
Once the veerbhadra who was a form of shiva swallowed the sudarshan chakra. Sudarshan chakra can destroy all universes and is the most powerful weapon which can cut down anyone.. Lord vishnu was not able to defeat veerbhadra. And they let Daksha died who was the son of Bhrahma and was devoted to narayna. Everybody knew noone was able to save Daksha because he had messed with wrong person. If somehow they managed to deafeat veerbhadra they afraid what would happen when shiva will appear.
Once a poison came out of ocean through samundra manthan (churning of the ocean. That poison was so dangerous .. That could destroy the universe.. Devas such as indra and other and even Asuras started running.. They were not able to do anything.. And so they went to Lord shiva they approached shiva to help . . Shiva drank all poison in order to save world even heaven and hell could destroye. Even the throat of Lord shiva became blue.. Shiva is immortal there was no one else who could had that poison this is one of the story which shows power of shiva.
Shiva lives in eighth dimension which is known as shivaloka and kailash but this is not the kailash which is on earth ,its a multiverse which cant be seen . This is different dimension here shiva take care of other previous seven dimension.
According to hindu mythology Shiva is the first dancer in this universe who performance natraaj and do taandava when he gets angry. When Shiva play taandava pralay comes. Once when kaamdev the son of Brahma disturbed Shiva from meditation Shiva got angry and opened his third eye and kaamdev was destroyed in seconds.
So In my opinion no one can beat Shiva in terms of power.
When Shiva gets angry all falls in fear.. No matter whether they’re God or demons.
Lord narayana.
Lord narayana is the preserver of this universe.. He is the main God who takes care of all universe.. He has reincarnated many times which is known as Dashavtar.. From the beginning of this universe when Lord narayana took form of a fish and saved the world. And then again and again he Reicaranated to save world.
Like Lord rama.. Krishna.. Parshuram and many more fabulous forms.
The deadly weapons of narayana are narayana astra..sharanga bow and sudarshan chakra.
Lord narayana neither is emotional nor innocent like shiva. Lord narayana is always so calm..he doesn’t grant any wish so easily..narayna do his job so smartly..
Most of demons hate narayana like ravana.. Hiranyakashyapu.. Kamsa and many more and that’s why narayana became reason of their deaths.
According to hindu vedas Lord narayana lives in ninth dimension which is known as vaikuntha. In this dimension Lord narayana creates all dimension..It is said that when a human gets salvation he just becomes one in this dimension.
There are three more vishnu exist in sixth dimension as a part of Lord narayna they all play different roles. Karnodhai vishnu who created tatwa and Create 5 dimension .. Garbodhaksai vishnu who creates brahma. Shirodhaksai vishu who exist in every single thing in universe.. That’s why it is said that God remains in everything even within us.. Like scientist says atom exist in every single thing just like that this vishnu exist in every single thing in this universe.
In mahabharata krishna showed his infinite form to arjuna.. Lord Krishna was the most powerful character in mahabharata And he helped Pandavas to win the war without touching any weapon. And Lord rama known as maryaada purshottam who defeated ravana..as same narsimha killed hiranyakashyap and parshuram killed Kartavirya arjuna..So Lord narayana played most important role above all God’s.
Conclusion
So In my opinion Lord shiva and Lord narayana both are equally superior. They’re just fulfilling their duty which is given them by Parbharma.
They both respect and are devotion of each other.. Shiva worship narayana and narayana worship shiva. Hanuman is a form of shiva who worship rama and rama worships shiva. It is said that Lord narayana worshipped shiva for thousands year and then shiva was so Impressed and then as a gift he gave sudarshan chakra to Lord narayana.
They both are dark blue in colour.. Both are individual and play different role..
According to vishnu purana shiva came out of narayana’s head . And according to shiv purana there’s a different story. It’s like once when brahma came out of narayana’s navel brahma didn’t know who created him and he messed with narayana that who’s superior and then suddenly a shivlinga appeard there and they both decided to race.. The one who will reach first in the end of the shivlinga will be superior. No one of them was able to reach in the end of the shivlinga but Brahma lied and said that he was reached in the end .. And then the bhairava… Shiva appears and he cut down one of brahma head .. This story show’s that there’s noone above shiva.
So as I said in beginning they both are equally superior it just some kind of duty where each play different and main role.. But yes brahma isn’t superior.. According to hindu mythology there are millions of brahma exist who just creates universe’s.
So I hope it will help you out guy’s to understand there’s no one superior between narayana and shiva. They’re equal in position but I know there’s still some people who will compare and judge both Lords and will create arguments but they must understand they’re nobody to compare beacuse no one can change reality.
